"My accomplishments attained from USM have advanced my career by giving me more opportunities in the teaching field. I am fully experienced as I have taught but Cycle's one and two in different school's on the island. I have even gotten the opportunity to be a Remedial Reading teacher which was my favorite position since I attained an A in my Strategies for Reading class at USM," Jamila says.

Jamila continued studying despite a devastating loss in her life and worked hard to earn her degree.

"The most exceptional part of my USM journey was actually returning to USM after a traumatic experience in my life (my mother's death in 2014) and being so determined to accomplish my goal of becoming a teacher in my country. I dedicate my degree to my mother who always motivated me to follow my dreams to accomplish my academic goals."

Jamila encourages students to persevere beyond adversity to accomplish their dreams. “The University of St Martin is the best choice of pursuing your dreams, because it is an accredited University in your own country. You should be proud to have a University accessible to you and your academic needs. The staff members are very encouraging and supportive as well,” Jamila says.
