Heartfelt Condolences for the Passing of Mr. Arrindell

The Board and Management of the University of St. Martin extend their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of Mr. Roberto Celestino Arrindell.
Mr. Arrndell was a pioneering Math instructor in country Sint Maarten, and will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to the students of USM, his Sunday tutoring sessions and his lively presence on campus. Indeed, upon retiring from teaching at USM in 2021, Mr. Arrindell was the institution’s longest standing faculty member and endorsed by students on multiple occasions as the most loved instructor. His dedication to his students went beyond the classroom, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.
As a proud alumnus of the University of the Virgin Islands, he shared a vision for higher education as a means for the development of St. Martin people and our Caribbean region. Roberto Arrindell’s love for his homeland was often expressed in his paintings and poetry, works which have been praised by the entire community. Mr. Arrindell legacy will be honoured in our collective memory. May he rest in eternal peace.
