USM Education Students Get Ready for Reading Festival in Oct

Students in USM's education program learned to add humor and engagement to children's reading assignments recently ahead of the upcoming Reading Festival in October.
More than one dozen men and women who are training at USM to be the island's next generation of educators will join dozens of teachers from around the island and serving hundreds of children for the two-day Reading Festival, scheduled for Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19.
The Reading Festival will be a collaboration between USM, the government of St. Maarten, St. Maarten Library and other agencies with the goal of strengthening children's and families' relationships to books and their broader understanding of community and the world.
