USM remembers Zariel and Dillon
October 29, 2024
Our USM community gathered on Tuesday evening in a solemn ceremony on campus to remember the lives of Dillon Rotsburg and Zariel Davis, two students who died by suicide this year.
USM President Dr. Antonio Carmona Baez offered words of comfort to the crowd, which included students, faculty and friends and family of the two young adults whose lives were lost.
Campus counselor Carole Joseph urged everyone who attended to check in on friends, classmates or co-workers who seem unusually detached from their usual routines.
USM again wishes for the peace and comfort of the bereaved family and friends of Dillon and Zariel, and we, as a community, share in your sorrow and stand beside you in your grief.
To any students who are struggling, please, seek out support from professionals including USM's counselor Joseph.
