USM students, faculty get dressed up for Cultural Parade

November 12, 2024

USM students, staff and faculty donned colorful costumes, inspired by cultural wear depicting the island’s floral, for the annual National Cultural Parade on Sunday afternoon.
Nearly two dozen USM representatives danced along with dozens of others through the annual Cultural Parade through Cul-de-Sac and Philipsburg ahead of the St. Martin Day celebrations on November 11 annually.

St. Martin has been celebrated on the island for several decades and began as an expression of oneness between the north and south sides of the island. This was USM’s first time participating in this cultural manifestation, but it will not be the last time USM engages with such activities.
