Welcome all incoming students to the Spring Semester of 2022

January 17, 2022

Classes will be online for the first two weeks of the semester. USM's Management Team will continue to monitor the situation and will be sure to inform all students and faculty accordingly.
On behalf of the management team of USM, I hereby welcome all incoming students to the spring semester of 2022 and wish each one of you much success. Please note that classes will be online for the first two weeks of the semester. USM's Management Team will continue to monitor the situation and will be sure to inform all students and faculty accordingly.

Come March, we will be culminating a second full year of the COVID-19 pandemic and we continue to observe preventive and safety protocol at USM. Although conditions continue to be unfavorable for face-to-face learning and campus life in general, we invite you to assume the attitude that has allowed us to achieve and sustain uninterrupted academic operations.

Through hurricanes and the pandemic, hope, steadfast commitment and solidarity are postures that have guaranteed our unremitting existence as St. Martin’s sole institution of higher education. Do not let the term “social distancing” fool you. It is important to understand that the distance required for safety is physical in nature, and this requires us to be socially conscious and more connected than usual. In order to be successful under the current circumstances, communication becomes extra important; that is, communication with your instructors, your division heads, the business office, and your peers.

While USM is where you can achieve your personal and lifetime goals, it is also a place to build a strong sense of community and belonging. We are in this together and together we will pull through triumphantly.

Warm regards,
Prof. dr. Antonio Carmona Báez
USM President
